Greenway is uniting the community through art, education and enterprise!

With the growth of the Melrose Trading Post and the creation of a Development Office on the campus of Fairfax High School, Greenway Arts Alliance continues to be a major supporter of the educational goals and mission of Fairfax High School.  Our ongoing fundraising efforts help to beautify the landscape, bring in community resources, provide internships and jobs for students and provide teaching artists for the classroom.

Greenway stands behind the belief that involvement in the arts helps motivate youth to improve scholastically, provides an impetus to stay in school and fosters creative thinking, problem solving and other essential life skills.  Fairfax High School enrolls approximately 2,400 youth, including many English language learners who speak over 30 languages. Many students commute and are bused to Fairfax from areas including South Central, East Los Angeles, Baldwin Hills and Downtown.

Thanks to donations from generous supporters Greenway Arts Alliance continues to offer growth in all areas of programming.

The Fairfax Teacher's Fund, powered by Greenway Arts Alliance was established to give the teachers of Fairfax High School an opportunity to ask for the items they need.  Teachers submit a request and we post it up on the site!  A donor can decide to fund a project completely, give partial funds or even give the items.  Making this connection between teachers, their community and it's resources  our teachers will always feel supported.  That is what the Greenway Model is all about!
